Renew and Recharge BEFORE the End of the Year
Hard to believe that 2021 is winding down. What year is it? It's not 2020 anymore, right?
2022 will be here in less than 70 days, and I am not talking about how many shopping days until Christmas. I am talking about your health and your money. Before the year is up, take full advantage of your health insurance.
Using Your Health Insurance to Its Fullest
Now is an excellent time to review your health insurance and see how you can take full advantage of it to better your health.
Health Insurance Plans and Yearly Cycles
Most health plans have a deductible, so you may want to check and see if you have already met your deductible this year. If you have, you may want to take care of some health care issues before you start all over at $0, since many plans cycle January 1st each year. Visit Health Care Insider.Com for more information on how Health Insurance plans work.
Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs)
If you have an FSA, you might want to invest some of those dollars in your health before the end of the year because you may lose any money left over in your FSA. So, plan carefully. Now is the time to fully utilize the money in your FSA and get what you need to improve your health.
Health Savings Accounts
And for those of you who have HSA accounts along with your Health Insurance plan, you may be able to use your HSA account for Physical Therapy or Pilates for rehabilitation.
Defuse the Stress from 2021
This past year and a half have taken a tremendous toll on our physical health: working from home at a less-than-perfect desk set up, not being able to do your regular exercise program because the gym or studio was closed, you were working AND homeschooling your kids when the schools were closed; I hear these stories EVERY DAY from my clients, and stress. All kinds of stress.
Renewal Can Start Now
We all appreciate that our routines may be a little different than they were PC (pre-COVID). Still, if a physical problem is getting in the way of you getting back on track, we can help. You don't have to wait until January 1st to start a new healthy resolution. In fact, it may pay to do it in the next few weeks.
Sincerely,
Kathleen McDonough, PT, MA, MCPT
